21-year-old Madis Mihkels has shown at the ongoing Volta ao Algarve cycling tour in Portugal that he is capable of performing at a high level in the group finish and taking a leadership role in his home team EF Education - EasyPost.
In stages 3 and 4, Mihkels was in a big game towards the end, but in both cases had to settle for 6th place. We offer you a video summary of both stages for viewing.
The Volta ao Algarve will conclude with an individual time trial on Sunday. Mihkels will next start in Belgium, where Omloop Nieuwsblad is scheduled for March 1 and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne a day later.
