Rein Taaramäe, who is riding for the Japanese team Kinan Racing Team this season, will make his first start in the United Arab Emirates, where the five-day Sharjah Cycling Tour will take place. The multi-day race, which starts on Friday, consists of five stages, one of which is an 11 km time trial. The longest group stage is 133 km.

Kinan Racing Team has 11 riders this season - in addition to Taaramäe, the foreign riders include Australians Drew Morey and Nathan Earle and Frenchman Thomas Lebas. This is Taaramäe's 18th professional season, having started his professional career in 2008 with Cofidis.
