Cannondale gave Madis Mihkels a new blue-black-and-white LAB71 SuperSix EVO bike before the start of the Vuelta, matching the colors of his Estonian championship jersey.
Madis was crowned Estonian champion in the group stage in June and will start the Vuelta on his new race bike in stage 1 in Turin. "Riding in the Estonian championship jersey is super cool," says Madis. "It's a really beautiful jersey and it's a beautiful bike. I like the design and I'm proud to wear my national colors." 
Under the paint, Madis' bike is the same ultra-light and aerodynamic machine that won him the Estonian championship and achieved great results, including third place in this year's Brugge–De Panne classic. The LAB71 SuperSix EVO is Cannondale's top-of-the-line race bike, with carbon tubes refined for maximum aerodynamics and precise handling.
Madis is targeting the sprint stages of the Vuelta, so the bike needs to be fast, especially on the finish line. He has chosen Vision Metron 60 RS wheels for maximum aerodynamics on the fastest stages, while in the mountains he uses Vision Metron 45 RS wheels. Both handmade full carbon Racing Series wheels are equipped with the new PRS hub system, with a spiral clutch for faster engagement and better power transfer. 
Madis uses 30mm Vittoria Corsa Pro tubeless tires, which offer maximum cornering grip and exceptionally low rolling resistance. Vittoria Air-Liner inserts add protection and allow him to keep riding even if his tire goes flat until he can change the tire.
This year's Vuelta is 3,151 kilometers long and covers some of the toughest roads and climbs in modern cycling. For comfort, Madis relies on Fiziku's Vento Argo R1 saddle.
