In 2027, both the men's and women's Tour de France will start in the United Kingdom. This will be the first time that both Tours will start in the same location.
The men's Grand Départ will take place in Edinburgh, with the first stages taking place in Scotland, England and Wales. Details of the women's stages will be announced later. This will be the fifth time the men's Tour has visited the UK - previous starts were in 2007 and 2014, and stages in 1994 and 1974. The grand event is supported by the British Cycling Federation, UK Sport, the UK Government and the Scottish and Welsh governments, in addition to the Tour organisers.
Moving the start of Grand Tours to other countries has become increasingly popular. Six of the last ten Tours have started outside of France, such as in Copenhagen, the Basque Country and Düsseldorf. This year's Tour will start in France, while next year's will start in Barcelona.
