Madis Mihkels withdrew from the cycling tour due to health problems

Madis Mihkels (EF Education - EasyPost) only participated in the first two days of the Boucles de la Mayenne - Crédit Mutuel cycling race in France, as he had to withdraw due to health issues. The cyclist, who turned 22 on Saturday, was suffering from fever and stomach problems.

In the 5.4 km prologue, Mihkels finished 39th, and on the opening stage, the Estonian crossed the finish line in 93rd place, more than two and a half minutes behind the winner. The overall victory went to Aaron Gate (XDS Astana Team).

Mihkels' next start will be at the Tour de Suisse, which takes place from June 15-22. After that, the squad for the Tour de France will be announced.

EF Education - EasyPost can be quite satisfied with the Giro d'Italia, which concluded today. Kasper Asgreen and Richard Carapaz each won a stage, and Carapaz secured 3rd place overall, behind Simon Yates (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) and Isaac del Toro (UAE Team Emirates - XRG). In the team classification, EF Education - EasyPost was 11th.
