7‑Eleven on üheks päevaks tagasi!

7‑Eleven is back for one day!

The Uno‑X Mobility team is racing today at the Liège-Bastogne-Liège classic under the name 7‑Eleven, to celebrate sponsor Reitan's association with 7-Eleven in Scandinavia and the 40th anniversary of the American team's debut in the monument classics. VIDEO

Uno‑X Mobility riders are swapping their usual red and yellow race kit for the legendary green and red worn by 7‑Eleven in the late 1980s. The Uno-X Mobility team cars will also sport the 7‑Eleven colors — this could be one of the boldest equipment changes seen since the UCI allowed teams to alter their kits for specific races and events.

UCI rules permit the use of an alternative team kit for up to three events per season after approval.

The 7-Eleven team was the first American squad to compete in the Tour de France and full European races. Dag Otto Lauritzen became a national hero when he, as part of the 7-Eleven team, became the first Norwegian to win a stage in the Tour in 1987. Lauritzen will be with the team on Sunday as a sports director.

Eddy Merckx supplied the 7-Eleven team with bikes in later years, and Uno-X Mobility riders will be using a special red and green Ridley Noah Fast bike on Sunday.

P.S.! The Ridley bike in 7-Eleven colors can be ordered from the BikeFanatics store. Take advantage of this exclusive opportunity and be the first!
