According to unconfirmed reports, the 2027 Tour de France will start in Great Britain, with official confirmation expected in March. If this happens, it will be the third time the Tour has started in Great Britain – in 2007 it started in London and in 2014 in Yorkshire.
According to an official report, the three stages held in Great Britain in 2014 were attended by a total of 4.8 million spectators, and the local economy generated a total revenue of £128 million.
Previously, Great Britain vied for the start of the 2026 Tour with the aim of bringing the first three stages to England, Scotland, and Wales. However, it was recently revealed that the 2026 start will be in Barcelona with a team time trial.
In the last 70 years, the Tour de France has started in a foreign country as many as 26 times. This year's Tour will start on July 5th in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France.
