Mihkelsi tiimikaaslane läbis ühe päevaga üle 600 km ja püstitas rekordi

Mihkel's teammate covered over 600 km in one day, setting a record

Lachlan Morton, who is part of the EF Education - EasyPost team alongside Madis Mihkels, has updated the record for the journey from Auckland to Wellington. The cyclist, who focuses on long-distance rides, completed the 648 km distance in 18 hours and 28 minutes. The previous record, set over 40 years ago, was 1 hour and 32 minutes slower.

"It wasn't just about breaking the record, it was about catching a legend. The goal was to make the past present," said the 33-year-old Australian. "For me, these kinds of records are fascinating. A pure test to see how far and fast we can ride a bike in a day."

This is not the first time Morton has updated an endurance record. Last year, he circumnavigated Australia in 30 days, 9 hours, and 59 minutes. The previous record dated back to 2011 and was 37 days, 20 hours, and 45 minutes.
