The Ridley ASTR RS, designed for gravel riding, has received the prestigious Design & Innovation Award, a recognition primarily for the Belgian bike manufacturer's engineers. The ASTR RS has taken gravel bikes to a new level by combining aerodynamic efficiency with off-road capability, according to the jury's statement.
This is not the first time Ridley has won this award – two years ago, the Grifn was declared the winner. This award is considered a global seal of quality specifically for bicycles and outdoor products. International journalists and cycling industry experts use this award to recognize the most innovative and outstanding products.
Jury's comment: "A stiff, aerodynamically optimized frame and low weight ensure exceptional acceleration, while the stiff front end allows for precise handling. Thanks to the frame's ability to accommodate tires up to 52mm and its progressive geometry, the ASTR RS can easily navigate technical sections while remaining stable and controlled on fast descents.
The narrow handlebars allow riders to adopt an aggressive and aerodynamic riding position, whether on rough gravel or smooth asphalt. Specifically designed for modern gravel riding, the ASTR RS balances speed and off-road capability, redefining what gravel bikes are capable of. For us, it's a clear winner."
