The teams participating in this year's Tour de France have been revealed, with TotalEnergies and Caja Rural–Seguros RGA receiving wild cards. Tudor Pro Cycling, Pinarello–Q36.5, and Cofidis earned automatic entry by finishing in the top three of the 2025 ProTeam rankings.

The Tour, which starts on July 4 in Barcelona, will once again feature 23 teams following a rule change by the UCI last season. Among the participants is Madis Mihkels' employer, EF Education-EasyPost, but the Estonian champion has said that he is very unlikely to participate in any Grand Tours this year.

Caja Rural has participated in the Tour as a sponsor before — most recently in 1988 as the Caja Rural–Orbea team. However, that was a different team from the current Spanish outfit, which was founded in 2000.

"It is a great honor and an indescribable thrill for the entire team to make our debut at the Tour," said Caja Rural–Seguros RGA sports director José Miguel Fernández. "We are well aware of what this race means to the whole world, and of the immense effort required to reach the starting line of the most important race of the year. Getting here is the result of many years of hard work, perseverance, and growth as a team, and we deeply appreciate the opportunity that ASO has given us. We know that the competition is extremely high and every day brings a new challenge, so we are putting together a balanced team of riders who can perform well on every stage."

Caja Rural–Seguros RGA achieved only seven wins in 2025 but set ambitious goals for their Tour debut, considering the race begins in their home country of Spain.

"Our goal is ambitious but realistic: we will fight for a stage win to leave our mark on the world's most-watched race," added Fernández. "Three extremely difficult weeks against the world's best teams and riders await us, but we are arriving prepared, motivated, and ready to seize this historic opportunity. We will give our all to represent the colors of Caja Rural and Seguros RGA with dignity at the Tour de France."
